Default Kitchen ductwork

Hi all. Someone wants me to install some ductwork from his new hood to the exhaust fan. Has anyone done this before? I know it needs to be welded solid. Do you need to be licensed in some way seeing as its kitchen work? I've included a picture showing what it will look like. Basically 7 feet tall and 9 feet wide from the outsides of the duct.

It was five years back that we replaced the duct and hood in our kitchen exhaust. That time I was not a metal fabricator. We gave the work of fabricating the duct to a sheet metal fabrication company near us, named bayview metals. i think after the installation, A licensed person has to inspect the exhaust.
